Eritrea (Modernist Architecture & Red Sea)

Eritrea is a unique jewel of the Horn of Africa, where Italian modernist architecture, ancient Orthodox Christian monasteries, and Ottoman Red Sea ports coexist. The capital, Asmara, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its exceptionally preserved 1930s modernist and Art Deco buildings, vintage espresso cafés, and palm-lined avenues.
