8-Day Omo Valley to Northern Kenya Expedition Omo Valley – Lake Turkana – Chalbi Desert – Marsabit – Samburu Day 1 – Omo Valley → Omorate → Lake Turkana Morning departure from the Omo Valley toward Omorate. Complete Ethiopia–Kenya border formalities. Cross into northern Kenya and continue toward Lake Turkana. Experience the dramatic desert landscape and first views of the Jade Sea. Visit a local Turkana community if time permits. Overnight: Lake Turkana area. Day 2 – Lake Turkana Exploration Full day exploring the shores of Lake Turkana, the world's largest permanent desert lake. Visit Turkana villages and learn about their traditional lifestyle. Explore volcanic landscapes and lakeshore areas. Enjoy an unforgettable Lake Turkana sunset. Overnight: Lake Turkana. Day 3 – Lake Turkana → North Horr → Chalbi Desert Early departure toward North Horr. Cross the spectacular Chalbi Desert, one of Kenya's most remote landscapes. Stop at desert oases and traditional settlements. Experience the lifestyle of the Gabbra people and their camel culture. Overnight: Chalbi/Kalacha area. Day 4 – Chalbi Desert → Marsabit Drive through the changing desert landscape toward Marsabit. Visit Marsabit National Park, a remarkable green mountain oasis surrounded by arid terrain. Day 5 – Marsabit → Samburu Early morning departure toward Samburu. Scenic drive through northern Kenya. Arrive in the Samburu region in the afternoon.
