Continue to the Erta Ale base area and prepare for the volcanic excursion.
Depending on access conditions and safety advice, hike toward the volcano to witness its dramatic volcanic activity.
Overnight: Camping near Erta Ale or at an approved local camp, depending on current conditions.

Erta Ale – Dallol
Enjoy the early-morning volcanic scenery if conditions permit.
Return to the vehicle and continue the expedition through the Danakil Depression.
Travel across the arid Afar landscape toward the Dallol region.
Experience the dramatic desert scenery, salt flats, and remote settlements along the way.
Overnight: Hamedela or another approved local accommodation, depending on availability.

Dallol – Colorful Salt Formations – Lake Afdera
Start early to explore the extraordinary Dallol geothermal landscape.
Discover colorful mineral formations, sulfur deposits, salt canyons, and striking yellow, orange, green, and white patterns.
Visit the surrounding salt flats and, where accessible, observe traditional Afar salt-mining activities.
Continue by 4x4 through the desert toward Lake Afdera.
Enjoy the scenery of the salt lake and surrounding volcanic landscapes.
Overnight: Afdera.

Afdera – Semera – Flight to Addis Ababa
Enjoy the morning atmosphere around Lake Afdera.
After breakfast, drive back to Semera through the dramatic Afar landscapes.
Arrive at Semera Airport for your scheduled flight to Addis Ababa.
Upon arrival, your four-day Danakil Depression expedition concludes. Then the tour ends
