Simien Mountains National Park

The Simien Mountains National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage sanctuary renowned as the "Roof of Africa". Massive erosion over millions of years has created jagged mountain peaks, deep precipices, and sheer cliffs dropping over 1,500 meters into deep gorges.

Home to iconic endemic wildlife found nowhere else on earth: the grass-grazing Gelada baboons, the rare Walia Ibex goat, and the elusive Ethiopian Wolf. Trekkers journey across high plateaus and remote mountain villages with local guides born and raised in the park.
